ABIGAIL CONLEY

FILMOGRAPHY

I began my storytelling journey throughout my middle school and high school years as a writer, broadcaster, and theatre hobbyist. After getting into the College for Creative Studies as an illustration major, I knew that drawing would not suffice my need for storytelling, medium variety, and artistic growth.

Throughout my time in the film and media industry, I have developed a love for the macabre and abnormal, especially for projects that have an introspective focus.

All of my short films, VFX projects, and reels can be viewed through the filmography page.

SERVICES & REELS

Let’s work together!

I am a versatile filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist with five years of camera, broadcasting, and editing experience. Furthermore, I am an excellent and energetic communicator with specialized equipment and materials (e.g. paints, fabrics, fibers, etc.) knowledge. Throughout my internships and other media-based experiences, I have proved ability to maintain efficiency, organization, and team oriented success in fast-paced, high-stress environments.

Throughout my sophomore year at the College for Creative Studies, I began practicing lighting design and gaffing techniques. I am always looking for more opportunities to learn and grow within this field.

You can contact me through the information tab or through email (abconley23@gmail.com) for any post-production, script coverage, lighting, or directing needs.

A young woman peers into her bathroom mirror, pulling at her face. As she stares at the mirror and contemplates her complicated heritage, she begins to slice off her tongue.

COMING SOON:

AGAINST THE TONGUE

Artist Statement:

When I was younger, I struggled to find my identity as someone who is mixed-race. In my work, I often focus on the horrors of the body or the intricacies of nostalgia. In Against the Tongue, I combined those ideas to explore how the body holds guilt, ancestry, and language. I utilized old photographs of my family members and family friends that are from the Philippines. I enjoy how their faces contrast with mine; both the similarities and differences are beautifully apparent.

Against the Tongue made its debut at the College for Creative Studies’ 100th Annual Student Exhibition Opening. Stay tuned for updates about future festivals and screenings.
